• Knox County Housing Authority After School Program: Three sites.  M-Th approximately 3:15-5:15.  Assist in setting up site and then facilitating student activities.  Contact: Jami Eager, Knox County YMCA Program Director, 344-1324.
 
• Altrusia-Knox College Jail Literacy Program: Teaching and tutoring people incarcerated at the Knox County Jail, 152 S. Kellogg.  Prospective teachers/tutors are screened by Carol St. Amant and Donna Jurich.  Ideally, the commitment is for two terms.  Contact Carol for more information.

Carl Sandburg College Literacy Coalition:   2232 South Lake Storey Road.  Teaching assistants.  Requires 16 hours of training, so you need to be willing to do more than 20 hours of service.  Karen Avalos.  344-2581, ext. 5330.
