mutual respect for all types of diversity. Acknowledge
cultural differences in class, emphasizing positive aspects of diversity.
Encourage
students to share their cultures with each other. Actively
teach about different student cultures, both directly and indirectly. Use
a variety of strategies that accommodate different cultural styles (e.g.,
peer tutoring, group work, cooperative learning). Deemphasize
instructional grading practices that emphasize differences and competition. |
