Collisions -----> * <-----

This week's lab will involve study of elastic and inelastic collisions.

PL1) A mass of 2kg, moving at 10m/s on a frictionless surface, collides with and sticks to a mass of 4kg, initially at rest on the same frictionless surface. Determine the final speed of the pair of masses.

PL2) In the above collision, determine the final Kinetic energy, and the percent of the initial Kinetic Energy lost.



PL3) If the same objects instead had a completely elastic collision (i.e. total Kinetic Energy is the same before and after the collision) and the 2kg mass rebounds straight back, determine the final velocity of each mass.
