recall an art opening in the Center for Fine Arts at Knox when
Jeremy was about 10 or so. He was with Peter
and both were running
around having a great time. When stopped, their entertainment of
the
moment was to invent new ways to insult one another, in the manner of
boys exploring the power of language. Peter, being older, soon
had the
better of Jeremy. His jibes were more frequent and pointed.
Jeremy
stopped short and said, "Hey, I am just a kid!" Both fell to the
floor
